What has
our world become? What Severn Suzuku spoke in front of our politicians, business
men, and delegates more or less then a decade ago.I used to think about what
she says all the time. I used to also think what those in Brazil thought.
If I was rich, I would help those who needed it, even if that meant I didn’t
get any of the wealth. I am glad somebody spoke upon things that are important to
our health, our planet, and our future, although this was so long ago and
nothing much has really changed. Today, our generation and government care about
who has what new investment, who has the most money, and who has the power. We
lack the knowledge of what is really occurring. Although some may believe that
saving a forest is not as important as having people out of the streets and
ending wars, we could incorporate more energy efficient things into these
procedures as well as distribute the goods that Americans and many others are
selfish with. Many environmentalist stand outside to collect money to raise
awareness and save certain things that will effect all of us rather than just
their beliefs, but we fear fraud or being late to the next thing on our
schedules. Today, we are too busy to think of the big future, and think of only
what is right in front of us. Today, our generations care more about the
technologies of the world for personal enjoyment rather than the technologies
that could save lives. We are becoming more reliant on the resources that are
decaying and the animals that are dying. We are not looking within ourselves to
ask the right questions or taking the right actions to lead our own fates. What
will you do to save your life, your kids lives and other lives?
